Let's go in His strength and His courage

Today is March 29th and I woke up this morning with my grandmother on my mind.  She is 98 years old and birthed 10 children, served God, many of her children and grandchildren are serving the Lord and doing well.  And when she transitions, I know the Lord will say "well done good and faithful servant".

Wow, that's what I want the Lord to say about me, but I have to admit that at times it can be difficult to continue this walk when so many obstacles come our way and I am sure we deal with greater principalities and powers of darkness in this day and age than my grandmother did.  However, God is still the same today, tomorrow and forevermore.  So, I know it is His word and prayer that gives us strength, power, and encouragement to continue the course.

The Monday night prayers have been awesome and quite recharging.  I look forward to them every week as well as I know when I tarry one hour with my sisters that we are breaking ground in the heavenlies!  Last night we prayed for direction for T, healing and deliverance from alcoholism for D, jobs and financial stability for S, and end of transportation issues for A-- let's continue this week to lift these prayer requests up.

I also shared from Joshua 1: 8-9, and it says 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

God told Joshua to meditate on the word and be strong and courageous without fear or discouragement, because the Lord knew that the journey toward his promise was not going to come without trials, tests, and warfare.  So he was preparing him to prepare his spirit for what lay ahead.  We too have to stay in the word so we can stay focused in the journey or we will lose heart and shrink back.  His word builds our courage and helps remove fear and discouragement.  It might not happen overnight but if we stay in that word-- our mind, heart, and spirit is sure to change and we will be confident and courageous.  This is what I am standing on this week because God is with me wherever I go.  I am grateful for you all.  Please share with us and give us your commentary!!!!

Blossoming Vines Ministries was birthed March 19, 2011!

It's amazing how God does things and His process of bringing His will and vision to fruition.  Over 20 years ago, I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ.  I was fresh out of college, tired of living in sin with failed boyfriends and unfulfilled dreams; so, I decided to give God my whole life.  In anything that I do, I do it 100% with everything that's in me; thus, I partied and lived a life of sin with all-- so I was determined to live a life as a Christian with all I had.  It was then that I knew I wanted to have a women's ministry and share with other women.  Newly walking with God, zealous, and wet behind the ears, I knew I was ready to conquer the world and preach to many, travel to nations, preach in prisons, and do whatever God wanted me to do.  I knew I was ready, but God in His infinite wisdom knew that I would need much more preparation, humility, experience, wisdom, courage, and capacity to carry the mantle that He desired to give me.

Thus, started the process of preparation for the assignment.  As I forged forward in full-throttle, I begin to immediately see that this was a marathon and not a sprint.  I begin to endure lesson after lesson through heartache, disappointed, unanswered prayers, rejection, and a myriad of circumstances and situations that would try my faith.  There are too many experiences to recount in this blog, but let me say school, marriage, ministry, and the journey of trials in life were my classrooms.  Many tests I passed but there were many that I failed and had to retake.  Little did I know, God was preparing me.  Later, I am sure I will give some vivid detail of some of my life trials as I also want to hear from others as well.

Through my trials, I reached a point where I wanted to quit, give up and throw in the towel.  It was at that point of wanting to quit that God begin to renew my faith, restore my strength, and refocus my vision.  A healing process began and a humbling attitude would emerge.  I was learning that God was my source and no matter who and how many rejected me, He was and is my affirmation.  Where I felt defeated and intimidated, I begin to rise up and feel confident and able.   I fully realized that "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me"!   I was restored and courageous but humble enough to do what God desired.

Therefore, He spoke to me "It's time and you're ready"!  Thus, began the inception of Blossoming Vines Ministries, Inc.  A ministry that would encourage women to blossom where they are and produce godly fruit in others!  A vision that would evoke those to plant, bud, and bloom!  Where would I start, how would I get funds, and who would I contact?  The Lord said, "listen to Me and I will lead you every step of the way."  And so He did and He is still leading.

He gave me the name, people begin to sow money into the vision, and I sent out a clarion email and here we are.  Also, a logo was created, website born, 501c3 provisions, the informational, and women begin to connect.  God is in it and it is beginning to soar.  It's been twenty (20) years since I even dreamt of birthing a women's ministry and like Moses, Joseph, Hannah, and Peter-- I, like them, was processed, pruned, humbled, prepared, and launched forth to birth His vision in the earth.

I am honored by those that are connecting!  As He continues to define the vision, we will follow it to bring life to women in this city, nation, and world.  Join the journey with me and let's change the world together so that other women might "blossom" too!!!!!!!!
